Towing Trailer what Sprocket to use ?

I am in the process of building my bike. Got a 80cc Iglobal engine from amazon. I built the trailer and it will haul up to 250 lbs (logs, lumber, etc) (I have disc brakes). I weight 120. What sprocket size should I use, 36 tooth, 48 tooth, 56 tooth ? so that it can tow this load.
Also should I consider a hub mounted sprocket adapter due to the trailer or stick with what came with the kit ?

56 if you plan on going past 150 pounds cargo, 48 might be OK if you keep it around a hundred, if you have any steep hills you might want to stick with 56.. It's really subjective, especially if you like to pedal along.

I dont mind pedaling along. What would be the approx speed on flat ground w/ 56 tooth. 20 mph ? Thanks alot.

In the ballpark of about 25mph. That's a 7k limit on the engine but many surpass this. I don't think running too high is good for these, at about 9k you could pull 33mph.

I would recommend getting a hub sprocket adapter for pulling loads, in fact, I recommend it even if you are not pulling a load.

I used to have a Huffy that used the 50t. Be prepared to hear your engine rev alot without really moving fast. Thing was a goat tho. I can count on my hands the times I needed to help pedal on hills Surrounding me. And yeah if you have the means, the hub adapter is a good purchase.
