Tried to help a friend with his carb upgrade. Not sure I see the benifit to using one. I modded and tweeked my original to the point I am very pleased with it. Had to fuss with my friends a bunch to just keep it from coming loose and falling off! Then, it was too fat and won't idle if the air screw is even slightly cracked open. Soldered and redrilled his main, got it running...okay. I'd stick with the kit carb and get it jetted right, either way you go it will require an understanding of proper jetting. At least the kit supplied carb starts out close to being right.
