Hi im from Oz and this is my 2 stroke Schwinn in progress... I've done the usual mods including a severe dose of heavy porting. I got bored so I polished the engine covers to a mirror finish - I reckon this looks much better than the same crappy slotted cnc covers that everybody has.... I also did a little porting and port-matching with the inlet manifold... I've ordered a aftermarket cnc head as well as a 4 litre fuel tank that should arrive very soon... I'm gonna give the head a skim to raise the compression slightly just to give it shooting match a little more oomph... let's see what happens aye... lol Check it out
Hi everyone, ive had this baby for about half a year now and finally decided to make a build thread for it. It was a tough job building a bicycle from scratch as it gives you many choices to pick from. As If the frame wasnt crazy enough, i went ahead and put mountain biking rated forks on the front with a disc brake, and had a hayday with fitting disc brakes on the rear, but i succeded with thousanths of an inch to spare. i shoved a racing 2 stroke motor in it with porting, high compression, a mikuni carb, and a racing exhaust. Ive invested some serious bread in this build because its my hobby and my toys bring me joy. I love to talk about my bike and could all day, as ive modified and replaced every part on the bike, even in the motor...
Hey guys! Glad to have found this place. This week, I started my first build, a Wildcat PK80 with a Sick Bike Parts jackshaft kit. The base is a 1997 Gary Fisher Mamba that belonged to my mother...she was about to throw it out, but I saved it from this grisly fate to give it a second chance. Right now I'm waiting on the right size chain breaker to show up; in the meantime, I plan to hang out here and pick up whatever tips and tricks I can. Eventual plan is to add a complete electrical system with headlight, brake light, speedo, and horn, possibly with a dynamo. The grip shifter dangling off there will most likely become a tank shifter.
I've started work on my new build, an OCC Chopper bike I found in a dirty garage. I've already spent several hours on my projectt and I don't even have a kit! These things are not perfect for motorizing, as the engine has to be kicked left with the end result being the right rear engine mount stud is close to center of the frame. I could have dropped $40 for a pre-fabbed motormount but I simply don't have an extra penny to spend on this. I've created by own by measuring carefully and drilling holes in thick metal. It's a system of transition plate and muffler mounts that I've used before. The saddle was trashed! I found some material and worked up a new cover with some homemade rivets. It wil work for a while! The V-brakes, front...
I suppose I'll consider this more of what I have planned and add to it as it all begins to happen... I'm still unsure as to what bike style I'd like to go with but I am fairly certain as to the motor id like to start of with. The Zeda motors stand out for me on a personal level and I think I can accomplish some good things given some of the specs and features they claim.. After having seen some videos of these motors in action I'm fairly sold....Pricing is around $130 from the zeda website for the kit and that's plenty fair compared to some $100 plus engines I've seen with far less features out of the box. The motor will be upgraded in stages with first utilizing as much of the stock components as possible to see how far i can...
My first build was an unknown brand and size motor on a Walmart Thruster frame basket case. I learned a lot doing a total rebuild on it. While building and running the first bike, I had been eying my Giant Suede forward pedal bike. My wife and I bought a pair several years ago. I ordered a 66/80 Flying Horse kit from BikeBerry. What I got was a BBR 66/80cc ported racing engine. Damn. That's a nice upgrade. Due to the downtube being stretched forward with the crank being forward, I had to use a CNC mount on the back of the motor. Final angle came out good. The shock fork and seat makes this an easy riding bike. A set of Planet Bike fenders gives it a finished look.
Hello all, Been lurking in the shadows for a while, finally got inspired by all of the great work on this site to attempt my first build. The plan was to build my modern interpretation of a boardtracker, almost as if what I thought the guys would be building if they were still racing them today. I still have a lot of work to do before its under power but have been rolling around on it in the shop, can't wait for the motor noises to be "real" haha!! Well anyways here it is, hope you enjoy... Some specs: custom frame & tank, raw 80 cc, king top hat adapter & 34t sprocket...... Need to fab mount for rear disc caliper & install petcock in tank after that I'll be pretty close to assembling for a test run. I plan to ride it as is for a...
Hello guys! I'm Christian, and 16 years old. I have blacksmithed for 9 years and been welding for about 9 monthes. I had an old bike that my grandfather gave me and an old Tecumseh 3.5 motor that went on my Go-Kart. So what do I do? Combine them! I am a new member, and this is my first post, and my first build. So please give me any tips and ask any questions! Thanks! I'm taking the pedals off, so I guess it's legally a motorcycle xP P.S. My mig welder is broke and I'm to lazy to fix it, so I am using my SMAW welder, so most of these are tacks till I get the mig welder working cause the tubing is so thin and all I've been doin is burning holes. xD So sorry if the welds look nasty. Gear Ratio question: I have a 12 tooth gear on the...
My second build is going to much longer do to expanse and being a scratch build. This one is going to be my HOT ROD and will be tricking the engine out since I have my stock daily rider. Biggest thing I am trying to figure out is what wheels I am going to run or build. Any suggestions are welcome. A few things I have gotten so far. Thanks Jeff
I thought some of you may be interested in what's going on with my Latest build - I am doing some radical engineering to rig up a swing arm dual suspension bike. First, I started with a gigantic road bike that was given to me, set up for very tall riders. I chopped the head tube and the seat tube, removing almost 4 inches of tubing. I'm going to affix a 1/2" axle perpendicular to the seattube with heavy welded steel. The swingarm axle hold a welded double sprocket offset about an inch that will feed the left side 36 tooth sprocket, anchored via clamshell on a 24" wheel. The swingarm width will be 7 inches, with my custom hub being 6 1/2" wide. The hub will ride on a 1/2" axle! It will take something to break that. I am shooting for a...
Lotsa new stuff. New (NEW!) wheels. I replaced the rear QR axle with a solid axle. Disc brakes. Metal idler and derailleur pulley sprockets with bearings New throttle and shorter cable New rear rack A whole pile of USB lights chucked. A new light systen with onboard 12V lithium battery. Triple brake lights on rear. 15W RoadShock flood on front. Mini bullet lights with lenses I added to make 360° visible. Pictures after a battery test running hazard flashers for 3 hours,,dropped 0.2 volts off full 12.6V charge. A voltage display is on top of the black box, charge port and power switch on side, fused inside. The battery is 3s2p 5800mah. I can charge it with a solar panel but it appears I'll have plenty of range for normal riding using...
It's time.:devilish: Building mini choppers and 2 1/2 years of dabbling with MB's It's time for me to combine one sport bike with another. I've spent 3 weeks working on a frame to fit a 6 ft. adult rider. I saw this frame design a year ago and couldn't stop thinking about it so I gave it a whirl. Not as easy as I thought. In tradition of keeping a radical bicycle look, the frame is designed with a single down tube. Of course keeping a peddal drive train. (different than my mini choppers) Im going with a 45 to 47 deg. rake, with a 24" 72 spoke front wheel. Chrome billet forks. I'm not building the rear frame until I find the ultimate 11"wide x 23"tall rear tire/rim combo. The head frame is bowed, to accept any engine...
I normally don't build on ~$150 wally world type bikes but this caught my eye. http://www.walmart.com/ip/39801995?wmlspartner=wlpa&adid=22222222227030299476&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=51487321352&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=105949407872&veh=sem The 'tank' is two pieces of pressed formed sheet metal that butt together in the middle via 2 struts attached to the frame via cut outs, two screws on each side plate, and top mounting hole to strut between the split top bar. I thought I'd see if I can make it wide enough to get a filler and petcock on it and seal it up like Sportsman does. I made new inner struts to widen the front 7cm wider and the rear 3.5cm wider. NOTE: flattening the front struts V mount out straight gives you the back strut. That...
Related to this post: https://motoredbikes.com/threads/preparing-a-new-build-on-a-schwinn-stingray-chopper-and-im-looking-for-some-advice.50872/ Donnor bike: Since this is not being an standard build (as expected) I'm going to describe how I'm solving the issues that I'm having, I hope it will be useful for someone. First thing, choosing the motor kit: after digging and asking around I decided to go for I ordered this kit: http://www.bicycle-engines.com/49cc-4G-T-Belt-Drive-Complete-Gas-Powered-Engine-Kit.html I didn't know if to get the 100 or the 80 tooth pulley, I asked on the chat that they have and.... I believe the person behind didn't know much about what she was talking about... I asked which configuration will be faster and...

Hi, It started out as a Huffy Beach Cruiser that I bought at a Thrift Store for $15 and it kind of got out of control from there. The fuel tanks are old pump style fire extinguishers from the early 1900's and has kersone lanterns from the late 1800's which have been bulbed and wired for light along with sirens from the 50's that run off a 6 volt battery and Power Wheels motors. The sidecar started life at another Thrift Store as a pull behind cart that a small child would ride in behind a parents bike and it went from there. The sidecar frame is wooden covered with canvas and sealed. I don't know why I built it except just to see if I could and with a lot of trial and error I got what you see. My Very First motorcycle show I went to I...
