My Dax 70cc is not keeping its idle, what could be the problem? First, things first is that my exaust pipe is messed up, the tip is bend and the internal baffler was bent somehow when I got it. So do you think its the exaust pipe that is preventing the engine from keeping its idle? when Im riding it however its fine, no problems running. but when I idle it turns off? what could be the prob?

You could be running too rich. If there is alot of smoke from your exhaust, I would check the spark plug. If the plug is black and wet, you will need to lean it out by raising the needle clip in the carb. Hope this helps.

Check for air leaks. If you have stock intake gasket, buy some gasket paper and cut your own. Use gasket tack on it to seal it better.

Check mixture. Place choke at 1/4-1/2 setting and release throttle to idle. If it idles or seems to run a little smoother than you know for sure you have an air leak. Fiddle with the choke to see what it does-let us know.

I think that is probably your idle screw not set correctly.

What do you mean by running rich? Gasoline/oil ratio? I put 93 octane in my tank, and I recently found out its not good. Will that damage my engine? I only had 93 for like 3 tanks im on my second.

93 octane won't hurt anything other than your pocketbook and possible carbon buildup over long term use (very long) in a low compression engine.
