Modern Boardtracker - 1st Build

Hello all,

Been lurking in the shadows for a while, finally got inspired by all of the great work on this site to attempt my first build. The plan was to build my modern interpretation of a boardtracker, almost as if what I thought the guys would be building if they were still racing them today. I still have a lot of work to do before its under power but have been rolling around on it in the shop, can't wait for the motor noises to be "real" haha!! Well anyways here it is, hope you enjoy... Some specs: custom frame & tank, raw 80 cc, king top hat adapter & 34t sprocket...... Need to fab mount for rear disc caliper & install petcock in tank after that I'll be pretty close to assembling for a test run. I plan to ride it as is for a while & trouble shoot before I paint in a retro theme.

that is a stunning frame! Nice one! a real speed demon, thought about an expansion chamber? Because that would look so nice flowing with the lines of the bike!

fastboy, don't know too much about expansion chambers. what would you recommend? what are the advantages? thanks

Well, a lot of 2 stroke tuners will agree that 45% of the engines performance potential is in the exhaust, and with an expansion chamber you can unlock this power. The advantages are increased power, you can experiment with pocket bike exhausts, this is what I have done. There are lots of threads about it on here.

Heres a link to an animation that describes how an expansion chamber works.

Its hard to explain in words without it getting confusing!

lobsterboyx, iride is correct you could also look for a girvin. i found these NOS on ebay last year & saved them (as well as the wheels) for the time when i felt i could take on this project. good luck!! fastboy thanks, sounds like i'll have to look into an expansion chamber before i paint her up!!!
