no low end torque after dremmaling the woodriff key on the magnito

Street Ryderz is there a way to program your own timing curve into a cdi, i was looking into it and msd seem to be the only ones who make a programable cdi for a single cylinder but it needs 12v for power

I've owned a number of European cars with Bosch distributors, and nearly all of them, ( except for the SAAB 2 stroke Shrike and MontyCarlo 850cc race engines.) had both a mechanical and vacuum advance. Actually the vacuum diaphragm, depending on the model, was either a vacuum retard that reduced vacuum for emissions, or an advance for better running under part throttle moderate vacuum cruise conditions. One of the better made points and condenser ignition systems.

In keeping with this thread I've also done a mild magneto key mod to slightly retard the ignition. And I also notice that my 48cc engine is a little flat in it's power below about 3000 rpm. but runs great at 20 to 25 mph.

There are programable cdi's out there yes it take's some fitting and custom work in our case. here's the best adaption I've seen shown so far though it doesn't cover what was intended for power suply on the road!

yeah the power supply is the major thing thats holding me back from going to a programmable cdi the way i see it you would be much better off adding a fuel injection system if you were going to put a battery on the bike

Or both i was thinking electronic ignition, electronic fuel injection, O2 sensor, catalytic converter and OBD2. Could make the only California legal 2 stroke. But even if it passed they probably have a law against the number 2.

Is your crank and rotor keyed at 12:15 or 1:00 because as mentioned above Jag's info was based on the 25 degree btdc engines and now many are are at 20 and if your using an aftermarket cdi it could be as low as 15.If at 15 and now the 2mm drops the base to 9 and yes bottom end will suffer but high rpm will sing hapily away all day!

Its at 1 oclock yea its got vary little power when taking off almost wants to stall but when i get passed that it runs good. Should I rotate the magnet more towards the 1 or 1:15 oclock mark for torque?

Okay I'll do that I spent most of the day studding the tires and swapping the axles out so i can add peggs dose anyone know if it will be safe to ride with two will the engine over heat or? together were going to add up to about 300 pounds.
