Big and small bevel gear alignment

My engine makes a fairly loud consistent mechanical grinding noise when idling. It sounds like some gears are not meshing properly. When I took the clutch cover off I was a bit concerned as the bevel gears were out of alignment. Is this normal. I am fairly new to these motorised bikes.

Is there some marks on the inside of the cover? That would tell if it has become loose.

You would have to upload the video to a dedicate video site and then post the link of the video here.

I do see some wear on the teeth of both gears. If you pull out the spark plug and turn over the engine by hand, you'll be able to watch the gears as they turn. You will then be able to determine which or both gears are bad. Check for any up/down or side to side movement of the gears too. (Wobble)

In the photo you shared, both of the gears are in line. Mine are not. Is that a problem?

I'm old and half deaf...lol... but it sounds like a pretty normal running motor to me.

Maybe that’s just the sounds of the gears inside

If you are super worried about it, then just order a new gear and clutch gear. I would just run it, but then again that's probably why I have a couple of projects that are currently broken.
