Clutch Clutch nut keeps going loose

Hey guys, today the clutch went, wouldn't engage, turned out the nut that goes over the shaft that the little sprocket is on got loose and put the clutch out.
So I get it home, tighten the nut, adjust clutch, all sweet going good them the nut comes loose and I lose the clutch again... And it was only a short ride, the nut is going lose by itself,why is the nut coming off by itself? any tighter and I will strip it. I put some lock nut on it tonight, see what happens tomorrow.

If your nuts are coming loose and it's causing you problems in life, the best solution is thread lock, otherwise known as Loctite 243 or Loctite 263 if you really have a problem with your nuts that a doctor can't fix

Or a center punch to the end of the shaft to expand the shaft by a .001 or so. This works well if the nut is tight near the end of the shaft and only a few threads showing.
