Exhaust timing

So I measured my exhaust duration timing and it came out to 165 degrees. Which is pretty s**tty. I raised the exhaust port getting it to around 170. Im doing all this to get a better powerband, I also made my exhaust port more circular. So should I try to get my exhaust port timing to 180?

Also, I haven't done s**t to my transfers yet, except matching what should I do?
 
Re direct the transfer ports towards the intake to get rid of the cross talk.
Makes a world of difference.
 
Be careful not to go too far on the exhaust port or you will lose low end torque. Another way to adjust the timing by using a 2nd base gasket and modifying the piston skirt to readjust the intake timing. Check out this video.
