The supplies tank isn’t all that pretty so my sibling is going to try welding me one.

20” x 4.5” x 3”

Holds 1.2 gallons ish

What’s the best way to fasten it? Straps up top? How many you think?

Thnx

A couple up top and the seat post should be find.
I had a lower bar on my custom tank build so I didn't have to go up top.

And you have to go wide enough to attach a filler.

Good luck with it!

I salvaged the filler & petcock off my old tank that was supplied with the kit.

Do you know what awg you used?

I salvaged the filler
You don't want to salvage the big lousy stock gas tank filler if you have a top bar, your tank would have to be crazy wide.
Look at that picture of mine, I have like a 1" filler.

I’m anglin’ It. It’s a cheap build lol

Tank came out alright. It looks a bit large but I wasn’t willing to go under a gallon.

1.2 ish gallon tank. 20 AWG. Steel.

Bike was 47 lbs with the peanut. I’m hoping to stay under 60lbs when it’s all finished. I’m cheating MB with those tires.

And Am I suppose to treat the inside of the tank with anything?

Couldn’t weld 20awg.

Might try brazing it
20 gauge is pretty thin so it would take a series of spot welds all around very small so as not to warp or blow thru with low heat(power) settings,Then you can go around again and again until it's filled in or use the tank sealer,Even the best welders will have some porosity when it comes to tanks, I'll spend more time welding and grinding seams than building the tank it's self.
