i broke my leg doing a Evel Knevel stunt {12}various,burns,stiches,face plants on my dirt bike {10-16}.now i treat every parked car as if thier door is going to open.also did a face plant testing my breaks,shocks compressed and over i whent.but they stop on a dime.lol

My worst injury was from a dirt jumping endo.

Fractured skull
Broken rib
Broken neck in 2 places C1 and C2
Broken back in 2 places T3 and T4

From this I got a 7 vertabrae fusion of T1-T7. Bone chips were sprinkled on my spine at the fusion so it would grow into one big vertabra. After the first surgery they told me one of the screws was touching my spinal cord so I had to have a second surgery the next day to re-align it.

10 screws almost 3'' long and 5mm wide. The rods are about th size of a pencil and the pods they're mounted in are about the size of a finger or thumb. Yes, they are still in my back and will be for the rest of my life. Yes, it hurts...ALL THE TIME. Yes, I still ride the same way I did before I wrecked.

My worst bicycle accident occurred in pitch darkness one night coming home from a local bar. I hit a mailbox and separated my left shoulder, cracked three ribs and messed up my face with road rash. I lay in the road for what seemed like forever trying to draw a breath, straightened the mailbox and limped home. Couldn't ride for six weeks but in the interim installed a 12v motorcycle battery with two headlamps and taillight. That didn't happen again...

About a month ago I was riding my non motorized Schwinn cruiser backwards sitting on the handlebar and the coaster brake got a little tangled up with my footing and I fell on the pavement.
I like riding backwards. Back in the high school day I rode my BMX bike backwards for three miles non stop around Rockland lake Park in Nyack,New York.
I'm seriously contemplating riding my motorized bike backwards. It would be a thrill.

I got a love bump from a woman in a white minivan. She passed me on the left then decided to turn in to a parking lot and cut right across the bike lane that I happened to be in. I hit my coaster brake but wasn't able to stop or avoid her. I wound up colliding with the rear right corner of her minivan and launching into the air onto the pavement. It was entirely her fault. she completely cut me off. After apologizing profusely she agreed to pay for the repairs to my bike which were minor. I wound up with lots of road rash. I was also wearing flip flops so I got my toes nice and chewed up. I decided it would be a good idea to put caliper brakes on my front and rear wheels. Now with those and a coaster brake I have some serious stoping power. Tough way to learn a lesson. I think I'm gonna get a rear view mirror too because people just don't watch out for us.

joel,
thats my biggest fear. the ones you cant avoid hitting. i live in fear and i am extremly paranoid. i have excellant breaks, front and rear in one handle on the right hand side, but there has been a few times that I scream and slammed on them.
a coworker in his 50s who has been been riding his whole life had a bad accident last year. A big truck turned right and slammed him and his bike down, The helmet saved his life but he broke his nose and eye socket.
i wear a helmet in commute traffic but not when I joy ride...hmmm sounds like a new poll is due..

I had two thugs from school chasing me down this long hill on my stingray and I turned to see if they were gaining on me. That was a mistake because I swerved and ran staight into the back of a pick up truck with his tail gate down.
I woke up back at my house and both shins were purple and swelled to the max. 2 weeks down time.
Motocross, hit head on mid air. Jerk was going the wrong way on the novice track.
broken bones laid up 3 months.
a lotta road rash motored and unmotored.

I still have the burn scar on my left leg from the very first time I rode my motoredbike. No kick stand then and it fell back towards me after i leaned it against the wall. Muffler 1 leg 0. Now I have a kickstand and wear jeans when I ride.
