I'm having electrical issues and I just want to know if my wiring was done right before I buy and then wait on a CDI? Can someone please tell me if it was done correctly??

pic is kinda hard to see but my wiring is as followed:

Blue wire from magneto and red wire on killswitch to blue wire on CDI

Black wire from magneto and black wire on killswitch to black wire on CDI.

Some colors vary but usually one is the same so the other one is obvious. If this is done right there may be another problem. I also have heard these plugs arent very good.

Maybe too many janky quick connection bits? If you don't use the right gauge connector and the right crimp tool you'll get problems, I would use silver bearing solder at any chance I could to make a good 10 thousand volt capable connection.

I like the troubleshooting tips but this is the same motor/CDI/connectors I was using on the last frame so I don't see that being an issue. What I'll do later is use a multimeter to check the CDI & Magneto. I have no idea what I'm doing but I'll google it and learn.

do not get in a hurry - do not get lazy - those are the rules

go thru the steps carefully, and go thru them over and over if needed - just because something seemed right once doesn't mean it stayed that way

Very good points. I'd like to check all of the electrical components with a multimeter but I'm not sure where to do it at. I'm sure I can figure it out but I'm not sure what the readings are supposed to be, do you have any idea?

blue to ground on mag should be about 350ohms

CDI never has reliable readings with just a meter
