ive had SEVERAL nipples pass through an engines. and its always because i overdo the travel...

i feel like im repeating myself here...

the BRASS ones do damage. and come off more often, as theyre only soldered on... hence why i now silver solder with no (is it a)ferrule(?)

the LEAD/ZINC ones just vaporise leaving no apparent trace.

while i agree with the spring theory, reality ...does NOT!

I still think your throttle pull is more than the carb allows, thus putting stress on the cable ends. I have been riding off and on for 40 years and that has never happened to me. (racing motocross too).

So to prevent rider's bodyweight (when hitting bumps etc at WOT) being transferred to the throttle cable/ends there could/should be an adjustable limiter on the twist throttle? I can add this mod to my "to do" list.. though it makes no sense that there isn't already such a device on the throttle, it sounds like an easy enough job. :)
