Make shift chain catcher? Pedal chain & motor chain?

How would you make a chain catcher? Pedal chain & motor chain? Got my front derailleur broke at the moment and got my motor chain way too tight, going to add a half link or whole link; slips off the top and bottom 44t sprocket. I need like a swimming noodle super glued on the back of the 44t sprocket as a chain guard and I was going to maybe put swimming noodles around the left side of my 12 gage steel spokes. Thoughts?

Don't have a half link. Think I'm going to try to make a half link with a tiny screw and a washer connecting two outsides.

You'll find a half-link to be much cheaper than the damage caused by a rig job.
