Just shake the gas can for the same reason you'd shake an Italian Dressing bottle, to remix it.
It's the gas itself that 'gets old' and looses some of it's punch, not the mix.

This has me worried. I've been down from surgery for 3 weeks and the bike is sitting. Anything I can do to mix it up again when I get to ride again?

What KC said.. Also I left it in a petrol can for several weeks while my shoulder healed enough to pull the starter cord, and presumably then poured just gas off the top of the can when I filled the scooter's tank.. This was pre-internet when I didn't even know what a tickle button was, lol.

I put in an iridium plug and it made no difference, in fact it seems to run better with a normal plug. guess it's normal the way the muffler is pointing down.
