quickie "10 bolt"FD

quickie 10 bolt FD bike. trying to do everything with tools some modest shed in town might have. yes im using a welder, but im limiting myself to a simple flux core unit. no tig, no lathe, no mill, no cnc, no broaching keyways, just a drill press, grinder, tap set, belt sander or a flap attack if youre desparate. i want this to be able to go on any bike with minimum hassle, and everything either clamps on via rubber mounts, or bolts to trailer hitch, waterbottle, rack provisions. may change my rear tire, i dont wanna wreck that one. this is going on my "good testing bike" used for hard enduro, and occasional shenanegans. i want this bike to be able to be returned to normal use. also it saluminum frame, so that may be a challenge. i fabed up the rear clamps (need more work) and the basic engine cradle. (forgot pic)

the roller is gonna be black iron pipe, with a welded keyway (we will see if that works)

This clamp on method is pretty easy. Looks complicated in the pic but its not. Works especially well on a bike with rear suspension as well as rigid frames.

You win the Uniqueness award for Ingenuity this year. Have you thought about issues with the pick up tube and the fuel tank being slanted?

This bike is running. 2.5hp Lifan. I run oak rollers. This 2” has thousands of miles on it. It tops around 25.
A hole saw and a board makes roller in what ever size you want. I ran a similar build with a 2.85 roller and it topped over 40.

This is the 40mph build. Hadnt gone to the big roller at this point. It was ungoverned. Had to pedal above 10mph before dumping the clutch. Took off like a bat after that.
