Just picked this up today. According to the seller it's from the 70's. I think its a brazed frame. Plenty of room to fit a two stroke provided I get different mounts. Would the split upper bar be a problem?

Edit: should clarify that it will be getting new wheels with proper brakes before an engine even gets near it. The coaster brake is dodgey even at pedal speeds.

Nope good bike there I believe it's a rollfast brand bike late 50'' & 60's vintage. Is there a number stamped into left rear wheel drop out. Here is one I picked up in rough shape, but a good builder thou.

No numbers unfortunately. The only identification it has is a badge on the head tube.

Yeah that bike is nice, did you get a reasonable price on it? I'm curious on your bike vs my rusty bike, cause all the forums said rollfast bikes never had any serial #'s on them, yet my bike is a rollfast with a serial number stamped on the rear wheel drop out. My bike looks identical other than handle bars.

Thanks. It cost me $20 and driving halfway across the state to get it, more gas than money. Only things its missing are the kickstand and reflectors, the tires even hold air. Only thing is the frame is a little small for me, I got long legs. I'm hoping a longer seat post will sort that out.

Your bike looks good with those handle bars and the shorter rear fender. Any plans to put a motor on it?

Eventually in time yes, I believe a 212cc predator engine will fit these frames quite nicely. I havent checked that yet on mine to be sure thou.

Ya got me curious about the serial number. Got the bike from my "workshop" (narrow mudroom) and brought it into the kitchen to look properly. If I had a missus she'd be pretty peeved to see a rusty bike in there. But found it, etched on the underside of the pedal bracket is R66009486. Now to figureout what that means lol.

That's where the serial #'s normally are, on the bottom bracket, I havent checked there yet on mine, cause they claim on other forums, they can be on bottom bracket of pedals or the left rear wheel drop out, which mine has a serial # there on rear drop out.

Yeah, I checked there earlier. Must have missed it between the poor light and peeling paint. If that bike of yours is light like mine is, I imagine a 212 could get it moving pretty good. I'm planning on a 66 2t to try and keep myself out of trouble. I think if I had a 212 I'd end up on a first name basis with the county cops for the wrong reasons.
