Works fine just pedaling around already checked the drive sprocket, chain tension, and alignment. As soon as i drop the clutch to start it up the whole thing just locks up and i have to take the drive sprocket cover off and pry the chain up to get the chain on the tracks. Could it be the Clutch?

na that was one of the first things i checked its only when i pop the clutch ? could it be i have my clutch cable too tight?

open the drive sprocket cover, take out the spark plug, and watch the chain as you roll the bike - you may see it trying to climb up a tooth rather than sit in the valley between teeth

if you see this, you may have to file or grind the tops of the teeth to make them pointier
