Why does everyone hate 4-stroke bikes?

Overall running expense should still be less $. Have to figure most 2 strokers use high test gas as well as the expensive oil. Most 4 strokes run fine on 87 and have little tuning issues. The 20 or so CC difference is enough to have better mpg as well. 49cc will run 7 minutes on just the bowl gas and the valve off. The wide cranks aren't even that bad if you have it hooked up right alignment is key. With a mid 30's power plant you really don't need 7 pedal gears either way.

Thats debatable, as you could run 87 in a 2 stroke as well. The cheapest good 2 stroke oil i know of is the supertech tc-w3 marine oil, about 11$ a gallon.

If where comparing apples to apples. Its going to need to be 50cc to 50cc.
A 49cc CG tuned right and running 40:1, and a 4 stroke running good and tuned.

Differences in operation cost will be pretty much neck and neck.

As 4 stroke kits cost about 230$, cg are about 80$.

Is say 100+mpg for both seems possible in the right conditions, add the cost of gas and oil and your pretty much neck and neck again.

overall, its what you like to run.

That is exactly how kart racing started. People started using chain saw engines on karts. The company's Like homelite , Westbend
Power products & of Coase the McCulloch started making larger cc racing engines.

When?

Technically they dont meet CARB or EPA emissions and are already illegal for on road use...

Two strokes have the better power to weight ratio, and better acceleration. Also low cost and simplicity on their side.

Four strokes have the low noise , greater fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and higher torque usually. Engines are far more complex.

There are high quality 2 strokes that meet EPA.....like the Zenoah. As well as high quality chainsaw engines from several manufacturers like Stihl snd Husky. I've been kind of wondering why you don't see more $$$ chainsaw engines converted..... The reason must be price. They can turn high rpm, 9000-12000 and make a lot of horsepower in a small size. Made to be used hard, at full throttle, and made to last. Of course they drink the fuel to go with it. A 53cc husky makes about 3.5 hp. Thats waayyy more than a Honda 50cc.

EPA? Lol

CARB? ,,!,,(>.<),,!,,

Stay outlaw my friends.Ⓐ

They are extremely clean even if only because of the efficiency. Burning a gallon of gas is burning a gallon a gas. One gallon worth of carbon chains is broke down and released into the air. There's no getting around it. No matter what anyone says there is no magic "carbon reducing catalyst". The law of the conservation of mass is real. Only God can actually create and destroy matter. We (humans) literally can't, we can only alter it, or send it off into space. What ever mass goes in to the engine must come out. Soooooo if you are not carrying much with you, your motorized bicycle will be at least 5 times cleaner than any f-150 hands down. It's just math. Easy math on top of that. If you are bringing stuff with you well then you need the bigger vehicle's carrying capacity.

Not if want to legally operate on public roads.
Under the federal Clean Air Act .
Here's the other thing. Just because you use a 4 stroke EPA/CARB honda or predator engine doesn't mean you're legally operating on public roads under yhe FCAA anyway. They aren't EPA approved for that. So you're still not technically compliant. Your engine is just compliant for off-road and appliance use.
