Right behind you.
Augi is setting out sometime in the near future for his cross country adventure. I wish him all the luck, smooth roads and considerate cagers.

thank you Stan4d...it was luck what brung me to this point, and i'm fully aware of my blessings ubetcha!

but since every new twist of the road will bring me into unknown territory, now i have to retrain myself for excessively-defensive riding and not depend too much on luck...

knowing i have friends along the way waiting with hot coffee & cold beer is pretty lucky too tho...all told i expect to have a great time

That's Awesome Dog !!! Have a super safe trip .. and enjoy !!!!

There's nothing quite like the promise of adventure !!!

I wish you safe trails and happy times. Good luck... and may GOD be with you.

Are you going to keep a journal??? Where are you going???

the forum will be a bit of a journal, prolly just a quick pic or two. i have considered i may wind up using pen & paper too.

my planned stops (ie folks who've forwarded contact info) so far are listed in my signature...once i skeedaddle i won't be making much of an internet production out of it, i really am ready to just ride for a while :helmet:

In the Aerospace industry

We call the pen and paper the "BCT" That stands for Big Chief Tablet...
Any body remember those ??? With the picture of the Indian Chief...
The youngsters alway's say whats that !!! kinda funny...

Oh yeah, Big Chief tablets, and giant Cosgrove green painted pencils. The kind you wrapped your whole tiny hand around before you learned how to hold a pencil properly in a two finger & thumb grip.

I remember the very first one of each I ever had - I was in the Los Angeles Shriner's Hospital for surgery on both legs, and it was 1958. My Dad and Uncle John drove down from the ranch northwest of Bakersfield to visit, and Uncle John brought me a tablet and two Cosgrove pencils, some Crayons and a couple of coloring books about Roy Rogers & Dale Evans. I learned to write with those things, and the help of an English lady who volunteered everyday in the hospital.

as a technical-highschool student of the 70's i too know "who" BCT is :D

(mechanical drafting, trust me i can talk about "real pencils" all day ;) )

i wanted to clarify about what a "planned stop" means to me...it means if i make it that far, we're clinkin' beers, but i have no idear about when that might be. i only use "if" for one reason...3 things can stop me anywhere, anytime...my endurance, the bike's endurance, the law. i'm not worried one bit about me or the bike :helmet:
