New engine - YD 100 - doesn’t like hills or going full

Wow, that’s a nice bike Chainlube! However I do not have welding skills, that’s the one shop class I skimped on during high school. Any preference on purchasable pipes? And/or anyone I can PayPal for any spare pipes anyone has here lol..

also I raised the needle (there are 5 notches on my carb needle) to position 2/5, whereas it was at 4/5. Performance top end improved significantly from the short ride I took, however it still four strokes at the top shaking and vibrating abnormally. Would you recommend going 1/5? Note I am running a 20:1 for the break in period currently, not sure if that has much to do with anything.
 
It cant hurt to try it but your going to have to run it more than a short ride to run out the fuel/oil bath that you gave it...lol...DAMIEN
Lol that’s true, it’s still gobbed up I’m sure from running so rich. I’ll take it for a cruise later today and check to see, if needed raise another notch.

I do love the blacked out look to it. It looks great!! I long for a fast bike, but alas I have 2 bikes now which is one China girl who is rigged together to the MAX, and now this YD100, which I was hoping to make a faster bike out of it. However I feel these 29” tires are weighing it down pretty heavily, among other things. Ones a road bike, the other a trail bike haha.

I’m building an E-Bike now as well that should be capable of max speed of 50mph. I have a hard time tuning these motors for whatever reason for speed.

Yea, when my frame broke on my 5 yr old 6000mile bike i decided i wanted the blackout look...heres a couple pics of the old bike, you will see i put more effort into this new one...DAMIEN

Great looking bike either way! You can see how much effort goes into mine with the electrical tape holding the CDI on lol. Anyways, raising to the final notch seemed to do it well. Thanks for all the help!!

I recently scrolled passed a post about how these kits come with 3 base gaskets on them, I took one off only running 2. If there was a piston clearance issue, I would hear that at idle correct? I have a rattle going on at high RPM and I’m thinking that’s just a loose nut or something but not quite sure. I’m thinking maybe the 2 base gaskets may play a role in suckering performance as well, but not sure why the kit came with 3.. I don’t wanna run 1 and blow it up being the head+jug in one.
