Hello , I bought a new motor kit and bike .installed as directions said , everything’s on the bike pedals nicely but the bike will not engage the motor when I release the clutch it just continues to pedal as if the clutch is pulled . I have tightened clutch adjusted it. I have adjusted the star but in clutch plate etc etc . Anyone have any idea why I cannot get my engine to engage . Thanks . This is my first post in the board and my first build .

Which engine? One piece head or two?

Post a pic of each side of your engine, maybe someone will notice something off.

I noticed that the clutch cover is not completely flat on the engine until I tighten bolts .here are the photos I don’t know if these will help

I have tried tightening the clutch removing the cover retightening .i don’t think it can be the woodruff key because it’s out of the box brand new .thanks for your input

Loosen the screw, that holds the clutch cable to the arm. Pull on the cable with a pair of pliers and then tighten the screw again. You have to pinch the cable a bit to hold it in place while you tighten the screw.

One other thing that you can improve on , but it's not real critical to your clutch issue, is the level of your engine. Loosen both motor mounts, fore and aft, turn the engine forward a bit and tighten it back up again.

Clutch cable is bent to much it will work better with slight curves not bends like it is.
