Engine idling out of control

When the bike is under throttle it works fine but as soon as I pull in the clutch it begins to idle higher and higer. The idle screw on top of the carb has no effect on the idle, I have had it all the way in and all the way out with no change. When adjusting the fuel mixture screw it only has effect when under throttle still has no effect when the clutch is in and it is idling.

Any ideas on how to fix?

Your throttle cable is too short or hanging up on the top of the carb or throttle grip.

How do you locate the air leak and stop it?

Propane torch, not lit, engine running. Sweep it over the gaskets, not in front of the carb mouth. When revs change you found the leak. Use a new gasket or a little rtv.
