Frame Material? Does it matter?

With the engine doing all the work, there's no real reason to choose a lightweight frame. Remember we're pushing these bikes to speeds (and stresses) they were never intended for. Heavy steel is the way to go.

im rebuildingg a panasonic with a double butted cromoly frame old commuter style seems like small tubbin and real light so kinda worried me but i hear good thinngs so im gonnna trust it

Steel for me. Aluminum work hardens from vibration, becomes brittle then snaps.

That's why I check mine weekly.

Next one will be steel just because I can weld on it. Make it easier to get rid of semi vertical dropouts.
