New here.

I'll be starting my first build in the next couple weeks. I've been going over all the options. I want to build a 2 stroke on the cheap, but will have to build a 4 banger on account of how anal the police are in this area about noise. I've been ticked before for this reason, and I can't afford to be pulled over again.

a 2 stroke with the stock exhaust isn't very noisey albeit more noisey than a 4 stroke. You can always stuff steel wool into the muffler.

I'll still build a smoker, just not right now. In fact, I have a RD400 in the garage I've been working on for Bonneville. I love my two strokes, but can't take the chance at the moment. Too many tickets & not enough $$$.

I would like to build a 79cc HF http://www.gasbike.net/collections/...ucts/79cc-monster-80-bike-engine-kit-4-stroke, but I really like the SBP shifter kit, and the advertisement lists it for (This kit is designed to fit the 49 cc Honda or Huasheng engine). http://www.sickbikeparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=110

I don't know if it would work for the 79cc? As anything, I'm sure it could be made to work, even on a 212, but money is a big factor at the moment. As it is, I may have to upgrade from the 49cc HS kit's set up http://www.gasbike.net/collections/...-drive-kit-with-huasheng-49cc-4-stroke-engine to the SBP shifter kit at a later date. I could probably just swing the price on the 79cc, but if the shifter wouldn't work for a future upgrade, then I'll have to just go with the 49cc kit.
