Home made 2 stroke?

a press? cutting blocks of ali in half? wtf? oh yeah. the user name is a dead giveaway that you dont know anything. i should have known better.

you need a lathe, you need a mill, you need tooling, you need a grinder, and for christs sake...you need to make castings.

why machine gobs of material away and only build one?

if youre going to do it, do it properly. castings, jigs, and repetition. make twenty at a time. fifty even. its the only way you could make them economically.

anyways, why so obsessed over the 2 stroke? theres a larger market for scale v-twin fourstrokers, really. some lunatics would fork out two grand for an engine that not only looks but also sounds like a mini panhead...

you will have to show evidence of a two stroke that doesnt use transfer ports... and it has to be petrol, not diesel.

thankyou! please come again!

OK as a kind of crazy idea just for the hell of it, what if you took 1/4in plates and cut out the layers of crank case, sure you'll have to use more bolts to hold it together (maybe,) but it would be less wasteful than milled billet and you could conceivably take the crank and piston out without removing the engine from the bike or something stupid like that. Might be fun to place some plexiglass over the outer panels to see inside. Yes I know the transparent clutch cover exists but what the heck why not. Air leaks would get more interesting too!
