The issue you'll run into with that is finding a flywheel with a gear on it that is that small.

1 possible way, would be to put a v-belt pulley on the flywheel side, then used a starter/generator with v-belt pulley & a short belt. Of course this would require some custom machine work to achieve.

You know, golf carts have a generator/starter that is belt driven. The belt from the starter cranks the engine and once the engine starts the starter generates power to charge the battery.

Bad thing about them starter/generators they are big. It would have to be scaled down a bit, or the weight would be a killer. Lmao my way isn't practical for our application, but would work. The other thing it would require is a external voltage regulator. They are made in 6volt & 12volt options.
