The hot/boiling fuel issue has been on my mind .
In the case of 48cc engines without an inlet tube, this MUST be a real problem.

actually it isn't, not with my 48 c.c. anyway.
yes, i have the one without the intake tube and i have never had this problem, even when riding in 100 plus degree weather.
 
hose to nowhere thats pinched off? did that get answered? if its on the engine side of the throat of the carb... its a vacuum tap. some motorbikes...most motorbikes, have a vacuum operated fuel tap connected to here.

its also handy for balancing the carbs on multicylinder/multicarb engines. you set all the throttles to the same vacuum reading, they run real nice :)
