Thread size and pitch of factory (2002) mirrors

I can't seem to thread the factory mirror on the handlebars of my 2002 Pacemaker II. I want to chase the threads and need to the size and pitch of the threads. TIA

Do you have a standard/metric tap & die set? Most of the better sets have both a standard and metric thread gauges in them.

You can use the teeth gauge to figure it out with.

I have a metric thread pitch gauge but it's hard to read. I must need new glasses.

Use a magnifying glass to read it

No wonder that I was having troubles------it's left hand thread and not right hand thread.
