Carby Why do i have two fuel lines on my carb..

i see, so the little fuel line is so the extra fuel can come out of the tank if it overflows. so i guess that means i dont have to connect it to anything then (the little one) ?
 
The flote inside the bowl has a cone shaped tip attached to it that seats inside a brass fitting that shuts off fuel when it gets to the proper level in the bowl. IF this seat leaks the carb will flood fuel into the engine and make it impossible to start. The line we are talking about will discolor from fuel vapor but should never dribble fuel. If it ever does dribble fuel, remove the bowl and check for dirt/grit.
