Will those bikes with banana-seats take an engine?

I've been looking at "beach cruiser" type bikes for my project, but I wondered if those banana-seated type bikes will take an engine okay.

They seem to have similar frames - what do you guys think?

bike size, not style, is the issue...can you tell us more?
