You can still find the HF augers at their website, and I saw one at my local HF store a couple of weeks ago.
And, the augers/water pumps can be found on eBay or CraigsList, so the thread is fine to stay open. (The two engines are the same, but the water pump version has an impeller shaft instead of a clutch bolted to the flywheel. You would need to get a replacement 'auger' clutch for it from HF, or pick up a two-stroke 78mm clutch elsewhere... )
I know that Kerf liked the one he used on his wife's bike build.
