New performance bike build

Nope, was bogging at WOT, then BAM! No more compression :) I had to pedal home.

After replacing the piston and dropping it two clips on the carb, the bike ran fine on a 55 mile loop today. No more WOT bog. :) The 4 liter tank was nice, after 55 miles, it was 1/2 full!

The new freewheel did stick twice though. Will give it a good clean and lube!

here are some vids from today with 5-7 on his new GP460 build. That thing is FAST!

My freewheel is down, and waiting on the heavy duty replacement to be available, so no bike riding last weekend. :( Instead I took my wife and son to Waikiki, and we got wild in the streets anyway!

No comments LOL! My HD freewheel is on the way, but did not make it for the weekend. My son and I have found some good deals on Razor electric bikes off Craig's list. We went to buy the pocket rocket, and for $50 they included the Chopper! One supposedly needed new batteries, but both were weak, so we picked up some replacements local and got them running. The minimoto is 18V, and I plan on gutting it for a 24V or maybe 36V setup :) Then there is his gas pocket bike, a guy I knew let it set out for a while and was gonna pitch it. We fixed it up and got it looking nice, but had never done the chain. We put a new one on this weekend and it really runs smoother LOL!

Here is my son with his fleet! Of course all the neighborhood kids think he has a pretty cool dad! :D

You guys must've had a blast in Waikiki!! Too bad no surfing for Richard.

The neighborhood kids must hang out a lot at your house, Ed. They KNOW that Richard can only ride one bike at a time. There's a chance they might get to ride with him.:geek:

Was researching it tonight...I think I will run the Razor PR-200 at 36V, supposed to work fine with just a spare batt :)

I still don't know how you're getting so much speed out of your build which is very similar to mine Ed. I think the only difference is you have a slant head and performance filter. I guess gearing could have something to do with it though. So far I can only reach about 35mph but Ive never had a calm day and a long smooth straight to give it a fair go on. I've just ordered one of the Rock Solid billet heads so hopefully Ill get closer to catching your speeds :D
I had the same problem you had with the air leak as well but fortunately I caught onto it before it could do any damage. Ive siliconed the **** out of my intake track now and also had to richen up the mixture a lot. Weird because it ran fine before the leak occured how it was set. Anyway love the build!

ps. Is that a pair of Grand Nationals in your garage?

I do have the 11 tooth sprocket upgrade on it, I never tried without, so am unsure the difference, but there is a 10% tooth difference over the 10 :D I run fairly skinny tires at high pressure for less resistance, and the bike is fairly light. The slant head does help! I had to run mine without for a bit and it dropped 3-5 MPH or so. If you are regular head on a 10 tooth, that could explain the difference. I also have the expansion pipe on with a boost bottle for kicks!

I got my HD freewheel installed, MUCH better piece. Also reworked my engine mounts on the suggestion of Ghost, I think it should be good to go. I start a new job in Mid-Sep and want to use this for a commuter. It is about a 20 mile trip.

Good eye on the garage, but it is one GN and one ex-Honolulu Police Camaro :) What can I say, I like to go fast! At least you did not call it a Monte Carlo SS :D The Camaro is actually more rare than the GN, it is a B4C police package, only 582 were made. Of course, the GN is faster!

The 11 tooth probably has a lot to do with it. I have a chamber, boost bottle etc seriously very close to your build. I think Ill have to order the 11 tooth down the track but I do enjoy the hill climbing abilities of my bike as it is now. Its seriously hilly where I live. I want to film myself going up my driveway in 1st under engine power sometime. I think that would convince anyone of how awesome the SBP shift kit is. My driveway is seriously steep. What are benefits of the HD freewheel apart from reliability?

I'm in Australia so I rarely see beasts like you have in your garage and don't really know a whole lot about them. I have bit of a soft spot for the GN because of this video I think http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yy5cifQFuq0

That Grand national has just a tad bit more Horse Power than mine :) If you watch the new Fast and Furious movie, Vin Diesel totals one early in the movie too!

I learned a long time ago, the faster you go, the more important it is to stop! i was pretty happy with the V-brake setup, but they were wearing, so I got a disc front today. My frame is also rear disc ready, so in the future I will replace that rim and add it on too.

We have also been slowly building an OCC chopper that was a dumpster rescue :) It was quite rough, but we got the motor mount welded on, stripped the frame, and painted it with a rattle can. It looks much beter than the start! i got new BB for it today, and managed to find some new forks and decent handle bars. The seat is rough, I may buy a new one on E-bay. it will be a cool ride for my 11 year old :)

The front brake felt really nice, so I checked it out, and my frame is rear disc ready, it just needed a trek disc-o mount bracket. I found a nice one on E-bay and ordered it up with another Avid mechanical disc setup. When it gets here I will source a rear disc rim from a local shop and have great stopping along with the speed :)
