Hey, the other day I got a new 50cc engine. I always try to put new plugs in when changing engines, but I didn't have an NGK b8hs on hand, so I work at Lowe's and bought a first fire ff-15 and it runs but not good at all. Did I just get the wrong plug, also what happens when you put a 4-cycle plug into a 2-cycle engine is it catastrophic to do so?

NGK's are the best plug all around and all that a spark plug does is spark it makes completely no difference what its used in, 2 strokes 4 strokes and furnaces and who knows what else.

Ok thanks, but my bike still has very little power, it idles fine but when I'm on it, it doesn't go any faster than 10-15 mph, I've cleaned the carb multiple times, but nothing seems to work.

is it 4 stroking or running too lean it could be one of them things also what oil mix are you running?

Also if your running a reed valve you must have a window piston and/or a third transfer port running from the intake port to the crank case to take full advantage from it.

No need valve, the only upgrade I have is a banana pipe, I'm running 32:1 fuel, no window piston.

what's the elevation where you live, and is the head properly torqued. If your curious about the plug just use one out of a engine that is running good. Does the new plug reach far enough into the head or is it hidden in the threaded portion of the head?

What kind of carb are you running im only familiar with the NT carbs

I've torqued the head down, the plug reaches and it's oily, I'm gonna get some ngk plugs in the mail soon
