7 Speed Motorized Bike Ride

The blue lights might happen the others joked about if you don't quit rolling through those STOP signs. I tell people if nobody is around then do what you feel is safe. However, if you're going to film and post then obey the traffic laws. Stop doesn't mean a foot has to touch the ground but forward momentum has to cease. Otherwise a great video.
There are times when coming to a complete stop is more dangerous than slowing down and moving on. I come to a complete stop when I can safely do so. While I never roll through stops in my car, I have zero problem rolling through a stop on my bike. I know I'm expected to follow all the rules of the road, but I also follow common sense. Like most rules, there are times when breaking them is the better choice.

Here you're missing the point. You're filming these roll throughs then posting them to the public. Then it gets used to stero type MBers as being reckless operators on unsafe vehicles. Then laws get passed to ban the bikes.

As for the Idaho STOP, it isn't legal in many places. In the few places it is allowed there can't be any visible traffic. Under these conditions a cyclist can then treat a STOP sign like a YIELD sign. The cyclist must slow to a 5 mph pace while proceeding through the intersection. The Idaho STOP wasn't done because it was believed a the roll through was safer. It was done because a cyclist can get back up to speed quicker from simply slowing down rather than coming to a complete stop. The Idaho STOP was done for human only powered vehicles.

For some of your first riding videos you did really good. Enjoyed the walk around and the speedometer displays

"You're filming these roll throughs" ... all one of them? You seem very over-worried about this subject.

Idaho stop? Never heard of that one. It is called the California stop, slowly rolling through a stop sign, nuff said! Please do not disparage the great state of Idaho.

Darwin...You really need to get out more often...lol...You have been in isolation too long...lol...The "Idaho Stop" is an actual law for cyclists in Idaho, Not the usual joking around like the "California Stop"...lol...DAMIEN

Ps...Its the Idaho Law that Jerry was referring to, Not the California Joke.

At was at least 2. For several years I was a regular contributor on Yahoo Answers Cycling. You'd be surprised at the number people coming on there complaining about cyclist not obeying traffic laws. These I individuals felt all cyclist had a disregard for traffic laws. You may think it isn't being noticed but it is; even more so when you film and post.

There's only a few regular contributors on both forums who film and post. Therefore it is a big deal because we're the ones setting the examples. When they cracked down on motorized bicycles in Australia it was videos they used to ban the bikes. This has also happened in a few states in the USA too. Please don't take this as a put down, because it isn't.

California stop is When the car in front of you goes and you follow in behind them. Which isn't legal anywhere. Just a stero type that was applied to all Calli drivers over the few bad ones.

There's a big difference between videos of multiple riders going 30 mph through stop signs and me coming almost to a complete stop on a country road. Also, the United States isn't as tyrannical as Australia. At least not yet. What hasn't Australia "cracked down" on? They are full on tyrants running that place. You are clearly overreacting. I would suggest that you not watch any of my videos in the future.

Starting Sept 3, 2021 Bicycles can now treat a stop sign as a yield sign in California. M/Bs are not bicycles and have to stop
Bicycles still have to stop at a red light and wait for it to change.
