Dio Reed Setup - No start issue

And if anyone is familiar with this part..... which end goes into the carb? Yes, both ends are different, very subtle.

Pictures would really help. lol

every spot we need to see that involves the part and the part.
The tube that the jet fits into is what's giving him trouble

How do you suppose I fit it in there? Just drop it in and tap it with a nail and hammer til it is seated? I just want to know how to install it back in and if falling out is how it was designed to do or not.
No, if it fell out then it can fall back in again. The jet that screws in will keep it in place. There should be a shoulder to keep it from going too far. I thought you were talking about a different carb in my earlier post, that is a bushing for the needle. It actually doesn't do much other than create a gap around the needle. Then the needle is used to make the gap bigger as the demand for more fuel grows, i.e. WOT.

OK, thanks. I think my mistake was taking the whole emulsion tube thingy with the main jet still attached to it. Next time I will just hold the emulsion tube in place with a wrench and just use a screw driver to take out the main.

My problem now is even with the jets, I'm not sure if I'm running lean or rich. I thought I had the pilot jetting right, but when I switched to a different main or moved the e-clip on the needle... it doesn't idle anymore. And also it would run if I kept throttle slightly open, but once past that initial 1/4 throttle all the way through to full throttle, the motor will kinda sputter a bit and then just die down. It's like I hit a wall. Would that be a lean or rich condition?
