    Hey BIKERS
I am putting together a 2500 mile ride from clearwater florida to ft. wayne indiana the 3rd week in september 2011, give or take 1 week based on weather, I currently have 3 sponsors prepared to help me along the way.
I am preparing a story about my journey that will be published in a national magazine, via articles build 2 bikes to make my journey, I have prepared press releases to newspapers and radio stations along my route,
and plan on stopping for interveiws based on human interest.
At the end of my journey I will raffle off the bicycles ( no money involved )
to someone who reads this particular national magazine.
My article has been approved however the one thing that they want me to include is names of manufactures of the engine kits and other things that are required to build a gas powered bicycle.
If you are starting a business based on motorized bikes this is a golden opourtunity to get national exposure for pennies on the dollar.
I have a chase vehicle that will bare the names of all my sponsors I have a silkscreen company who will prepare every peice of clothing I wear with all sponsors names.
Also I will have a video diary that will be published on youtube start to finish.

If you or anybody you know may be interested in being involved please email or call 727-420-8799 jeff

    Hi Jeff,

    Congrats on your upcoming journey!

There are several MB Co's here on the forum that would be a good fit for your situation.

As you made mention, one of the reasons this trip will be is for publicity.
That being said, have you addressed the legal aspects of riding a gas MB on public roads, on a state by state basis, (add: of the states that you will be going through), starting with Florida?

Do you have a FL tag and reg? Registered as a MOPED?

I'm sure the media will ask about the legal aspects.

    Looking forward to your response.

    OK, Great!

I think you may hit a snag right where you start, based on this and other forums florida legal section(s) (add: latest info.)

As you are way ahead of me, please post your legal Florida findings for the benefit of the FL gas MB Community.

Occ Are You The Fun Police ?

Why is my trip so important to you ? If you are that interested I could send you my lawyers phone number and he and your lawyer could get together and discuss my journey.
Beyond that I don't owe you didely squat and this post should be considered on a need to know basis, and from where I sit you don't need to know.
By the way my lawyer is $425.00 an hour with a 4 hour minimum so if
you really must know my business it will cost you.

    Hi AL
Not sure exactly yet what motors I will be using I am considering 4 strokes just concerned that the china girls won't make the distance.
Although the china girl on my commuter has over 3200 miles on it with minimal problems this will be a serious task for any motor.
Do you have any suggestions ?

The tone and underling flavor of your post came off as lets say not positive, I have dealt with this my whole life and understsand that people must be how people have decided to be.
That is none of my business until it is made my business then I have no choice but to deal with it in a business like manner.
I have mistakenly posted on a site in a fun light hearted manner because that has been the feeling that i got from everyone here.
I thought for sure this was a place that when you had a crazy idea like riding 2500 miles on a MB that everyone would be supportive, even if I was called an idiot I would accept that as a compliment from my piers.
As far as your mod goes I am truely sorry for it because nothing will ever make money without proper marketing and promotion, and I am afraid you just took that oppourtunity wadded it up and threw it out the window.

However I do wish you well in a extra positive way

Much better... No it's that I make a clutch roller mod that would make clutching on your hand so much easier. Takes about 6#...tested it with 6# mono fishing line, at least on my HT that's what it took. As far as engines, all I have is the HT...There are many more out there that are dependable, but I wanted the HT (motorcycle look) in frame...mine......it's just a toy to me. Ron

    Hey Joker,

I'm was just trying to have a conversation is all. You say you are "well ahead of me", ok great!

Why you take offence - I don't know.

I have some experience in the legal aspects of riding a gas MB, and as you are "well ahead of me" on the subject, it would have been nice if you shared the info for the benefit of the forum members.

    You do your thing. Whatever.

As you go to the media and get coverage, it will be interesting how you explain how it is legal to ride a GAS Motored Bicycle. (Again I was hoping you share this for the benefit of the forum)

    Your Quote:
"Beyond that I don't owe you didely squat and this post should be considered on a need to know basis, and from where I sit you don't need to know.
By the way my lawyer is $425.00 an hour with a 4 hour minimum so if

    What is that all about?

From what I understand, forums are meant to share ideas and help one another out. I'm not sure if you are in the right forum/place with that way of thinking. And getting sponsors as well?

    Good Luck.

"wadded it up and threw it out the window" :eek:o2ps::grin5:

Funny thing, I'm not in it for the money. I actually make these mods and members buy them from me. It's not my design idea, but I give members the opportunity to purchase them for what ever the reason, don't want to be bothered scraping up the materials or can't do them themselves, or just rather not take the time involved. I have posted numerous times where I get the materials and how to make them. So I didn't miss anything....
