ALMOST DONE, any final advice

well as i said before i have put one of the two NT carbs that i have on, they both have the top tab broken off, and i cut the intake short and took large DIA. fuel injection hose and coupled my carb and intake together. still having problems, it feels like it four strokes, but then when i adjust the needle to a leaner setting it is slow and sounds funny at top end. i dont know if its due to the cold weather, its been in the low 40s consistently. one moment it works next it does not and the next i have to make an adjustment. im using opti-2 and doing a gallon at a time. PLEASE HELP
