Fuel not flowing through carb into cylinder body

Hello! So Ive been trying to get my bike started for awhile now and have had 0 success. I gave it to my neighbor who used to race two strokes and knows a lot about them. It’s been about 2 weeks he’s had my bike and he says that the gas isn’t flowing from the carburetor into the cylinder. I have the OKO 21mm Racing Carb and a Dio Reed Valve. My neighbor said I might have put the Reed Valve in wrong. Is that even possible? Anyways, what could be causing the Carburetor not to push gas through? Ive been looking up answers all day with little to no success. Any ideas?

It's almost impossible to put the reed in the wrong way,those dio reed setup's are known for air leaks though and require a windowed piston facing the intake,if there is no window or the piston is backwards the engine wont pull in the a/f no matter what you do!

Ok this is good to know because I wasn't sent a windowed piston with my kit and I'm not sure if they expect me to port it myself or what but either way it wont start. Can it run without a windowed piston?

Do you still have your old cylinder? I'd put that back on and see if it starts. The dio reed blocks are terrible for air leaks behind the reed block. You need to make a window in your piston or get a windowed piston to get enough intake pull to pull the fuel in just as street ryderz said. Also you need a good expansion chamber exhaust if you want to run the dio reed with a oko. That's a giant carb for the engine if it's not ported with a properly tuned pipe.
Bikeberry and gasbike will never tell you that when they sell them.

Well thanks for letting me know that. This is actually my first build so I dont have any of that stuff. I just assumed it came ready to run out of the box. Of course I was wrong. Should have just got a stock kit. I just figured that since the place I bought from was having these kits on sale I figured I would buy nice or buy twice. I was obviously wrong.

Unfortunately as Chris said the vendor's are not very knowledgeable or honest when it comes to these engines and sorry but you're neighbor isn't ether, this can still be made to run well with some guidance from us and some work on your part all is not lost!

My neighbor is a pretty old dude so I mean I dont know how much carbs have changed or if hes ever used a reed valve but he doesnt seem knowledgeable enough about this topic

Unless there is a massive air leak it should run once you get a windowed piston in it. You can do this yourselves or if you trust your old neighbor guy. The hole should be as wide as your intake port. After that if there isnt any air leaks it should fire up. Then you'll probably have to rejet the carb. The oko has a pilot jet that controls idle and a main jet. This is what your window should look like. The piston is scrap but it has a good window so you know what it should look like.

If you take the intake manifold off and turn over the engine you can look in the intake port and see the piston. If there is no hole in the side of the piston then take it apart.
