Regardless the rule of thumb is .58-.62 x the dia of the inlet tube dia with a length of 12 x the dia.

No need to improve the MZ65, the thing works awesome, it really wakes up these small engines. It doesn't surprise me that they have sold out. CR Machine used to sell a fire breather header so you could use a similar motorcycle pipe but I haven't checked lately. I've never used that straight one but hear its pretty decent.
