new engine has stuck piston?

My new engine came with an open engine (cylinder and piston not installed) i installed the piston and when i push it down to give it a stroke to see how smooth it is gets stuck at the bottom then i have to put it on the floor and pull up to get the piston back up. (i put lots of oil in) i was just wondering if when i assemble the engine then pedal if my force will unstuck the engine then in will fire?

Do you have the jug on it? What happens when you turn the crank by hand? Does piston go up and down then?

i cant move the piston when i turn the output gear

did you install the piston so that the gaps in the rings are on the intake side (one each side of the carb)

That's what it sounds like to me, the rings are snagging on the exhaust port.
