New here and to motorized bikes, so help please if you can!!!

If you want cheap, buy a crappy scooter . A safe motor bike is not cheap, and a cheap one is not safe .

Please don't think I'm being ' snobby ' but your safety is more important than saving a few dollars.

Buying a used beach cruiser is smart, the wimpy wheels will soon be replaced with safe ones, than you have something ' worth ' putting a motor on. Good luck, keep an eye out for used / discarded parts and close out spray cans of paint.
 
I am pretty sure I'm going to start off with the 66 cc kit from www. Speeddemon.ca, it's relatively inexpensive and seems to be of a solid build quality, and the kit comes from here in Canada. I'm just waiting now to find a bike suitable to mount a motor on
