Phantom 85 electric start conversion

When I was on reddit group I found someone who made minarelli hybrid with electric starter using dc motor, if you're still interested I could try to find this post
Couple a high rpm three phase motor to the crank shaft, magneto side is the easiest. Get a rectifier and a controller. Use the controller to start, rectifier for power generation. Not recommending it but it can be done.

How does this actually work, what do I need and what do I do to drill start it
one side has a socket driver the other a hex that you drive with a power tool. Put it on the magneto nut and crank until it fires up. The tool freewheels so you don't risk stalling out the engine. There's also plain old bump starting by simply running and pushing the bike. I've done that before, and it works. Keeps you from carrying a drill.

You can get a center stand, peddle like mad, drop the clutch and keep peddling until it starts.

One thing with using a drill on the magneto nut, I would think the nut would get really tight and hard to remove at a later date. Never tried it.

I live on a hill so never an issue starting.
