Hello all,

I'm looking to upgrade to a multi-speed 4 stroke, and was wondering if anyone here had experience with these particular products:
https://www.grubee.net/collections/4-cycle-parts-build-your-own-kit/products/1bms-kit
http://sickbikeparts.com/grubee-freewheel-crank-assembly/

Currently I have a bicycle-engines HS Kit: http://www.bicycle-engines.com/49cc-4G-T-Belt-Drive-Complete-Gas-Powered-Engine-Kit.html installed on a Giant 6 Speed with 29 inch wheels. My rear sprocket is a 44T which serves me very well on the flats, but is pretty useless on hills. My down tube, and seat tube are odd shapes, so I was hoping the mounting brackets in the 1bms kit were the same width as my current kit, so I could just pop the new engine on the new plate and attach it to the mounts that I've already fitted to my frame. Can anyone confirm?

Also I'd need to have my 4G transmission mounted on an angle. Is there anywhere to purchase the transmission mounts with the offset holes drilled? I reached out to Mr. Grube, but he didn't have any available.

Any insight would be appreciated.

I know a lot about this but you'll have wait until tomorrow, I am toast today.

I pioneered the right side drive 4-stroke shifter.
I had a longer shafts made and pressed it in a 4G to make it a 10G.

Don took my design and put a couple U-joints in and called it his design and would't let me have one to test!
He was a long time friend and I helped with many things but we are no longer on speaking terms.

As far a re-drilling mounting holes I do it all the time.
I need to do it for my long shaft shifters so the shaft does not cover the oil filler.

It really helps if you have a bearing press, you can remove the clutch bell.

Just make a template of the 4 bolt holes, turn the 4G to where it works best and mark your new holes keeping in mind chain length and tension.

With the clutch bell off my drill press makes short work of the new mounting holes, the aluminum housing drills easy.

Hope that helps some.

I do love the way your set-ups look. Unfortunately I don't have a shop to work out of, and my wife won't let me fill the condo with much more than a drill and dremel. Do you still make the long shaft kits, or would you be willing to but together a "conversion kit" of sorts?

Thanks for the Kudos but Ouch!
I am in a 1800sf single floor house, and ~700sq is my shop, 2 rooms, carpeted and air conditioned but I understand your delima.

Nope, sorry.
I have 2 long shafts left and I will be using them for my last two 10G builds on gas tank frames with internal shifting and dual disc brakes like these...

Just go with a sick bike parts shift kit.

What springer fork is that on the 3rd bike, the OD green one? Who has the best deals on it? Thanks.

Grubee sells the 10g conversion kits on ebay and their site https://grubee-inc.myshopify.com
I am the only one earth that makes 10G's

Don copied my idea but threw in U-joints so you don't have to re-drill the mounts on the 4G.

Everything is a complete rip-off down to where I put the idler pulley.
I am only pissed because I helped through the whole design phase, what he needed from Sick Bikes, and he didn't send me one to try and build the examples.

I am sure it's good kit and will work fine, but my time is short and Don can suck my straw.
