Rambler Rebuild.

Now that the Mongoose/WCC bike is pretty much finished and it hasn't stopped snowing I'm rebuilding the Columbia Rambler. I have always hated the gastank from day 1 so that's the first thing getting done. Started building the tank with 4" steel post and cut to shape. I need to finish the exact layout still and cut the end caps and filler neck then weld it all together and leak test. Going to freshen up the engine and make an aluminum head fit and have upgraded to a G5 cylinder. That still needs all the port work and decking. Got lots to do on the gas tank and gussets and reinforcing to do on the frame before any of that.
Some before pics. And progress pics.

Are you going to wrap metal around your blank for the gas tank? Not sure what you're saying with the cardboard bits.

There's no cardboard. That's all steel. I'll have to post some more pics later I've got thre tank welded up and sealed it just needs the body work done.

The gas tank is pretty close to being finished really just the body work on it. Next step is adding some gussets and reinforce the frame and relocate the seat post. Still trying to figure out where im hiding the batteries.

So the two little wedges on top are just for looks? You need one of these. https://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/800-lb-motorcycle-lift-table/A-p8668071e
yup just filler pieces. 2" exhaust pipe cut on an angle.
that lift will never fit in my basement, the bikes barely fit down the stairs. there was a washer and dryer in the basement when i moved in and im sure they took them apart and reassembled them to get them down here.
the rope pulleys work well enough and i also do a lot of stuff at my work
