Separate Cylinder from Case? Stuck.

Ok. so it should be easy but not with this Ambassador motor that has sat so long. All the bolts are loose, but cylinder won't come up. Coaxed a bit with wooden mallet,,,, tried a plastic body fastener tool... don't want to mar the parts. MyNE5 pulled right off. Note that the piston and crank move freely. Looks like gasket frozen or cemented maybe.

Best safe method?

Got it,,, light tap block of wood
Yeah just taping the cyl with a rubber mallet break the cyl base gasket seal free

I use RTV on my cyl base gasket

To remove my cyl sometimes I'l have to use a putty knife to break the seal By inserting it here

I'll still have to smack the cyl with a Rubber mallet to break it free

Of course the engine is on the work bench and not on the bike
