Snowy towy, (snow bike build is back online!)

Yup, finally found some suitable doner bikes!
Rim looks perfect and holds the v belt in good. I probably will split a few v belts and make a much larger one.
Still waiting on lowes to open again so i can get some 3/16 or 1/4 steel for the engine mounts

I was just looking at mine today, the little rim/pulley I have isn't going to fit between the wheel and the frame and it's only an inch wide.

Yea mine has about a 1/8 of wiggle room. Biggest one i can fit is the 20 in. Hopefully it should gear me low enough for it to work.
But hey, if it was easy everyone would be doing it!

Well, I'm going to get the Porta-power out in the morning and see if I can stretch the frame in the critical area. My little rim is a lot narrower than yours. Are you putting the engine over the rear wheel? I think I'll use the traditional position.

Still deciding. Probably it will be in the frame as this bike has a weird one tube design in the rear. And i dont want to drill holes in the frame if i dont have to. Probably going to make a the mount from 1/4 steel and make the rest 3/16 to save some $ (stuff is getting really expensive for me, so budget is around 50-100$ on this thing, as carona basically killed my small engine repair business)
Im trying to figure out how to extend the belt a bit and how im going to go about making the clutch system.

I think i might weld the v belt pulley to a regular chain clutch. And then make a adjustable tensioner for the belt.

All hopes and dreams so far!

I already have lots of 5/8 jackshaft, so i'm going off the engine with just a go-cart clutch to the jackshaft and the belt drive off the end.

Yea i was thinking of just welding a v belt pulley to a go kart clutch then making a adjustable tensioner to make the belt tight.

You can get those little clutches with the V-belt pulley already there, no welding involved. Up here they are crazy money though, like 70 bucks.
Did you save the tension pulley from the snowblower? I did.

Mine has this weird 3 ribbed flat one. Like a aircompressor. So i need to buy one (ace has them for like 4$) as i could just cut off the chain sprocket and just weld the v belt and bam! 4$ v belt clutch (thanks to my buddy who gave me a 5/8 clutch like 2 years ago lol)
Overall its going to be a hack job. But a fun hack job!

Welp, change of plans.

New name for the bike is weedie freedy!
Got a 10$ weed wacker and welded on a few things and made it friction drive!
It runs really nice and i get about a hour and half to the tank (around 40ish miles)
Goes 31!
And it's lots of fun!
