Thoughts on road bikes?

The thing one must remember is a true Road Bike is made to be lite; unlike something like a touring bike. In the motorized bicycle world, a thick-walled tube frame is a good thing. The higher-end road bikes give up some frame strength/weight in order to gain speed.

This is the bike frame I used for my build because I wanted a rugged, well built, well welded, frame with a thicker tubing than a Huffy on which I had the frame snap, but at a budget price I could afford on Social Security...lol.

I bought the Hyper Beach Cruiser for my build and must say it's a very comfortable and stable bike to be riding, but I only used just the frame, handlebars, pedals and crank and front fork...Everything else including the seat was replaced to my taste and street riding style.

I turned this, (pic one), into this, (pic two).
