Whizzer Rides - Stories and Pictures

Just when I thought I had seen all the problems a Whizzer could have I discovered one more.

When kickstarting my bike it felt like the rear belt was slipping.
Upon inspection I discovered that the rear belt was not slipping because rear of the clutch was spinning but not the front Indicating a problem with the one way bearing.

Upon inspecting the one way bearing I discovered that it was fine and engaged properly but that it was slipping in its bore
Solution FIX was to remove the bearing and clean the outer shell of the bearing and clutch bore with brake clean.
Then using a punch, I put divots in the bore so when the one way bearing is pressed back in it will fit more tightly and won't slip.
Adding some sleeve loctite would be a good idea too.

Now when kickstarting my bike the clutch works fine. (y)

BTW I ordered a new rear belt. Because I thought my old belt was slipping
Napa wanted $26 for a AX62 Gates belt

So I ordered BESTORQ Made in USA $15.55 and free shipping

It's only just a little pocket change...lol...Make a counter offer...lol...lol.
It was a fun ride to see it again, now that it has been listed. This is my favorite ride to the end of Gordon Drive. I have watched this property develop over the past 44 years. The original houses have been torn down at least 3 times.
