Who has the most miles on there engine

i didnt know you could hone it, seeing its a Nikasil lining and not steel-sleeved. but i got nothing to lose, so i'll try it. whats the worst that could happen...i mess it up? :sick:

They make hones specifically for plated bores, so yes, you can hone it. I've done it to some HT engines that apparently weren't finish honed from the factory and had poor performance because the rings would not "bed in" properly.

I doubt that the plating is Nikasil, it is probably chrome plated - which is still a durable wear surface.

As long as it isn't scored and galled, several strokes with a properly sized flex hone will clean it up nicely.

Of course, a new jug is only $20 - but where's the fun in that. Wouldn't you like to stretch your record to 20K? :)
